What is HE IS RISEN?
He Is Risen is a community Easter celebration for all ages. We celebrate Christ through music, live acting, interactive and educational activities, Christ-centered art displays and childrens’ playrooms. There is something for everyone to enjoy. We welcome all faiths and organizations to learn and celebrate what we have in common, as we gather together for this event.

Who can come to HE IS RISEN?
Everyone! He Is Risen was created for our entire community. Whether you celebrate Easter or not, we want to share this event with you. He Is Risen is an experience for all ages.

Can I bring a large group to HE IS RISEN?
Yes, you can! It might be best to avoid Saturday events, as they are typically the busiest. Reaching out and letting us know ahead of time will help us to be prepared to welcome any larger groups.

When is the best time to attend with a young family?
People are welcome to attend at any time. However, we set aside a special day for young families. This enables younger participants to have more space and take their time learning in each room. Please look at the dates to find the early morning, weekday session.

Can I bring my homeschool group to HE IS RISEN?
Yes! We have a special day set aside for homeschool groups. This enables younger participants to have more space and take their time learning in each room. Please look at the dates to find the early morning, weekday session.

Is this building handicap accessible?
Yes, the building has handicap parking, ramps, automatic doors, wheelchair accessible restrooms, wide hallways and doorways.

Does HE IS RISEN support the audio or the visually impaired?
Most of this event focuses on both audio and visual components, many of the activities also allow for hands-on interaction. We are confident that this event will be enjoyable for everyone.

No, there is no line to get into the building. You are welcome to explore He Is Risen in any order and at your own pace.

Yes, we have volunteers available at every event to give private tours.

Will I be pressured by religious beliefs at this event?
Not at all. Our goal is to celebrate the life of Jesus Christ and the Easter season with our community in a spirit of peace and rejoicing. We put the focus on ways that bring our entire community together in worship, understanding, and education.

How do I volunteer?
Click the Volunteer button on the website and fill out the form. You can choose what type of volunteer work you prefer to do. We will contact you when we are closer to the event for scheduling.

Will the Volunteers be trained?
Training will be provided for all event staff immediately preceding the assigned time slot. No prior knowledge or experience necessary.

What is set up like?
SET UP will include everything from putting together larger sets, to distributing supplies to classrooms, to vacuuming and more. (And we will be providing pizza!) The date and time is on the volunteer form.

Who can participate musically?
We welcome all Christ centered musical performances that invoke a spirit of reverence. We welcome vocal and/or instrumental performances (unplugged).

What types of performances are allowed?
Any Christ-centered or Easter-centered music is welcome! Because the music can be heard in the live scenes, we ask that the music be performed in a spirit of reverence. Most instruments are fine, we just ask no drums.

How old do you have to be to usher?
The Ushers can be adults or youth (14+).

What do ushers do?
When you arrive at the event, the usher will be assigned a room to attend. The usher will be given a list of to-do’s for that room. The usher will answer any questions, restock supplies, and clean up their station as needed.

How old do you have to be to be an actor?
The Triumphal Entry features 2 children or youth ages 8 and up. The role of the apostles is for ages 14 and up. Mary and the angel at the Empty Tomb need to be 14 and up. The role of Jesus needs to be a man age 18 and up.

What do actors do?
Simple ACTING parts will involve silent gesturing while event attendees listen to prerecorded audio describing the scenes. The only speaking role is one adult who welcomes guests into the Triumphal Entry. No auditions or rehearsals required.

What does it mean to be a parking attendant?
The parking lot attendant must be an adult. They will assist attendees with parking as needed. They will help the flow of the activity by parking guests systematically around the building.

What is take down like?
TAKE DOWN will occur following the final session of He Is Risen. It will include things like taking the large sets down, putting items back into storage, and cleaning and vacuuming to prepare the church for meetings the following day. We can use adults and youth 14+ to help. (And we will be providing donuts!) The date and time is on the volunteer form.
